I'm not mad about it though. I don't know what's going to make her start making epic music again...maybe it's completely impossible in this day and age, where there is hardly such thing as a unique sound anymore.

I think some new people forget that sometimes...when Ayu's older music came out...it was EPIC. Epic album after epic album. Blew everyone away. The sound she had was just amazing. And all the songs built up into something that was so intense by the end of the song...you were left breathless. That's hardly happened since then :/ But like I said...maybe it isn't possible anymore.

At least she's still doing better than other female solos though. The face of jpop would be so boring without ayu.
You're right, it isn't really possible. I think once an artist builds up as extensive of a discography as Ayu (especially in such a short time) fans are going to compare no matter what. Ayu could make the next I am... and it will still never be as good as the first. She can't please everyone and she most certain can't "wow" them every time. She just can't win. Make the same "epic" music and be labelled boring, uncreative, scared to move forward. Make different music, fans complain it isn't as good as the old. But she's not some washed up has been who doesn't make good music anymore, she's one of the top selling artists in Japan of all time. And most certainly the top selling female. So she's got to be doing something right. I'm not saying all fans should like everything she puts out but I think to better look forward to the future, we gotta let go of the past a little bit.
