Dude, AKB48 have shops that only sell their goods in Japan and next to Arashi they are the most popular thing in Japan. However I have a feeling Nishino Kana will snatch that award this year. The success of crossroad nor L isn't going to make any difference (plus the crossroad's chaku-uta has already proved that the song isn't going to be the next big thing...).
As it has been said, Ayu is alright with being nominated, but she has been refusing awards since 2004 - and that is why she prolly hasn't been nominated that much.
