I dont know what you mean by being a Christmas cake and I get what you're saying about being new and fresh in the market but I think you meant to say that Ayu is
older, not old. But just her age alone isn't the only hinderance since Namie Amuro is even older than Ayu but has somehow managed to reinvent herself and make herself more appealing to the general public.
At the end of the day that is what making it is all about no? Appeal!
