Okay so I finished up most of the UNIVERSE tour and I know I'm late and no body really cares about my thoughts but I'm avoiding homework so deal with it LOL.
First of all, the positive: One thing Kumi is really good with is themed concerts and concert effects. She's good at pinning together ideas and making a show out of them. This is no exception, I thoroughly enjoyed the theme of this concert. Secondly, she looked beautiful the entire concert and she sounded good, of course. My favorite part, oddly enough, was the cute part. I think the concert arrangement of Koi no Tsubomi was AMAZING! If there is a studio version, please tell me lol. If not, she needs to get on making it ;D
However, I didn't find anything that particularly stood out about this concert. I was looking forward to the opening because her openings tend to be big eye-openers and really peek your interest but I found the opening super boring this time around. I mean it was alright. The lights were nice, water was okay. I was honestly worried about her slipping, I don't know why xD; I'm sure they took proper precautions lol.
I was also let down by the "sexy" portion of the concert, wasn't feeling it. at. all. Which was a super big let down to me but oh well. Ballad section wasn't that much better. It was cute as always her singing to the fan, I always love the expressions on their faces hahaha too cute. But she always does that so that wasn't too exciting.
Don't wanna start a war or anything, but the Can We Go Back performance with the chains and the red lighting just gave me a major (don't) leave me alone vibe from Ayu's AT08. I'M NOT SAYING SHE COPIED OR THAT THEY'RE ANYTHING ALIKE, that was just the first thing that popped into my mind, probably cause I just got finished watching AT08 prior <_____<; The singing upside down was cool but that's about it.
Finally we get to a song I can't get enough of.... FREEEEAKY! I honestly feel this is the pop-rock crossover that Kumi should stick to, much better than CWGB~ She really gets to show off her voice and bad-assness with this song LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE CAN'T EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SONG xD;;;
The rest of the concert was pretty typical end-of-a-kumi-concert so I'm not going to get into it too much.
All in all, it was okay. I won't be so hard on this concert because I seriously think my severe lack of love for UNIVERSE album had an affect on how I felt about this concert. Luckily she had enough she had a few of my most favorites like BUT and FREAKY (she butchered ECSTASY WTFFFFF???). I was really hoping the live show would make me like the album more... but nope, I don't see myself listening or watching UNIVERSE again in the near future!
I am however looking forward to the Billboard live, I hope we get a DVD or something of that because the track list looks like my kind of Kumi music!
My Eternity album came in today but I wasn't hope so it's at the post office T________T I'll get it tomorrow and let you know what I think!
