I never get the whole "k-pop idols aren't talented" thing. I mean, if you look at singing and dancing alone, they blow most Japanese pop stars out of the water (especially Japanese groups like AKB48 who, as much as I love them, can't sing or dance to save their lives). And if you're going to just be a pop star, all you really need is to be a good singer and a good dancer. You don't need to have amazing composition skills like Hikki or amazing lyric writing skills like Ayu.
But yeah, if you don't like mindless, fun, catchy pop, of course you're going to think k-pop is overrated.
