well at first it wasn't so popular if I remember well, but then it was used in a few commercials or some show opening/endings and people started to notice it and sales went from 50k to 500k in one week time. It was really everywhere! I remember watching tv often and during each commercial time, I could hear it at least once. Crazy~~
The previous moderate success of Koko ni Iru yo feat. Aoyama Thelma also helped a lot. It's also quite addictive and the lyrics are quite touching if you're in the same situation. Maybe people could identify themselves to the lyrics?
