yeah, ayu promo is kinda late and not so fierce recently. Years ago, her promo used to be 'in your face', where everyone know Ayu has a new release, it's kinda like how AKB48 promos are now.
don't worry too much about the sales though, ballads might not be that much of a hit for foreigners, but her main market-the japanese actually like ballads, and those sort of Love Songs thing. Let's not forget that majority of her japanese fans are female ages between 20 to 35, these are the ones that like Ayu's ballads.
