It seemed obviously like a wig to me.
The same wig from the Love Songs video, just styled differently. Her real hair was in the section that had the Dream On performance.
I agree that the best section was the ballads, Free and Easy and Endless Sorrow. It was nice hearing those old songs again and they had the most "effects" of the concert.
