And about the whole registration issue, I take back what I said in regard to Ayu.
My husband and I registered our marriage at City Hall but we had our ceremony and reception a year later after our first child was born. So overall, by law you are married but the "ceremony/reception" is just a fancy way of celebrating your union with your beloved. I'm not sure what her case was, but my husband and I were officially married without a proper ceremony. My mother did the same thing.
