How do you know it's not going to be certified? Songs from 2003, heck, songs from 1996 are still getting certifications. I'm pretty sure Crossroad, Virgin Road and possibly even Love Song at SOME point will get a certification.
Besides, don't forget that songs don't just get certified magically by the RIAJ. The record company itself, AVEX in this case, has to request it for themselves AND has to PAY for it. Sometimes they hold off certifications and then do an entire batch, like what happened with B'z last months, who suddenly had 6 songs certified.
