It does seem like putting them all under one label is a better idea but like dreamland said, it's actually better for both the group and management.

Think about it: While the labels do get a share of profits, they have to take care of all the promotion, the distribution, basically does all the work and all AKS has to do is kick back, make money and get free promotion for the main group. Plus, having all the subgroups scattered at different labels and the individual girls at different agencies ensures that the girls get the most exposure and attention they can get which leads to those million selling singles. Hello!Project is the example of what you get when you have all your main groups under one label and have all your girls managed by one agency. Limited budgets, limited exposure, poor promotion which equals: poor sales.
