EDIT: To elaborate, she, like my grandfather is Afro-Trinidadian. People who are of African heritage that eventually immigrated to Trinidad. Some, like my grandfather as well, are also of Indian heritage, and other countries in the same area. If I'm not mistaken, most people from Trinidad are more from the Indian heritage, and mixed sometimes mixed with some black. I think that's how it works. My mom kinda explained it to me.

I find that the people who are the mostly likely to call a black person "white washed" are other black people. What response did your friend give?
