Dolphin / Del'fin

Andrey Vyacheslavovich Lysikov (born September 29, 1971, Moscow) is a Russian poet and musician, known by his stage name Dolphin (or Дельфин). He won the award of best artist at the 2004 MTV Russian Music Awards. He also played at the Live 8 Russia concert.

Dolphin began his solo-career in 1996 after his initial departure from the well-known Russian pop-hip-hop trio MalMalchishnik. On the first two albums, 1997’s Не в фокусе (‘Out Of Focus’) and 1999’s Глубина резкости (‘Depth Of Field’) he presents a kind of experimental hip-hop, being close to his previous band’s music, but, not alike that, the prevailing mood is depressive as the lyrics are dedicated to drugs and personal self-release troubles. Nonetheless, on more recent stuff rap fades into background while more clean vocals, guitars and synths are brought to the forefront.

Dolphin’s passion for experimentalism has been providing a great success for himself. His music is unpredictable, innovative and just wonderfully done, and on his late full-length Звезда (‘The Star’) he undeniably delivers.

I think he is one the best artists in Russia. I don't have his albums and I've never listened them entirely, but I like some of his songs and I want to show his videos here.

I love this video so much! There are scenes from 1980 Moscow Olympic games. You can find here lovely 1980 Olympic Mischka, lots of people cried when it was released to the sky at the ending ceremony.
