Vienna Teng
Vienna Teng (born Cynthia Yih Shih October 3, 1978) is a Taiwanese American pianist and singer-songwriter currently based in Ann Arbor, Michigan whose music incorporates Folk, pop and a cappella. She uses piano and other instruments although her main instrument is piano.
Her lyrics as wiki puts it "writes lyrics with emotion, narrative, and personal history." Most of Vienna's songs are in English however her album Warm Strangers includes a cover of Green Island Serenade which is sung in Mandarin Chinese and live she has done a cover of the song Ru Guo which is also in Mandarin Chinese.
When touring live she sometimes tours with Alex Wong and other musicians who help with instruments. Live versions of her songs can sometimes be different than
the studio version due to different instruments being played. Sometimes multiple instruments are being played at once.
Vienna is okay with people taping and recording her shows although sometimes it depends on the venue itself because
of this there are many live recording of her shows some which can be found
here.
