^ To be most accurate about Like Grains of Sand, it is mostly like a coming of age story; it's about growing up from being a child to a teenager, coming to terms with the things in your life; one of the things people acknowledge when they become teenagers is relationships and love, and sexuality; this film is related to homosexuality simply because the lead character is in love with a man. It's not wrong to say it's got themes of homosexuality, but a coming-of-age story is a bit more accurate =]
Ayu's the third lead character so her role is big-ish; she's seen a lot in the movie.
