Thoughts on their performance (you can still watch it at
http://live.mtviggy.com/best-new-band-concert They are interviewed in the beginning, but their performance doesn't start until around 01:47:00)?
I thought they rocked it, though I was a little disappointed that they only got a little over 10 minutes (I'd assumed that, because they were the winners, they'd get a little longer). Still, it was an awesome 10 minutes.
Also, I WANT THEIR CLOTHES. Especially Bom's red and black question mark dress!
Spoiler:
Fire: what a great way to open the show! I'm a relatively new 2ne1 fan (started listening to them after
Hate You was released), so this is the first time I saw Fire live, and it was spectacular! The only thing that I didn't like had nothing to do with the girls; the things at the front of the stage that shot out steam (or whatever) were really noisy. I'm glad they didn't use them the entire time.
Can't Nobody Another awesome performance. I laughed when Minzy suddenly dropped to the floor to dance and the cameraman nearly lost sight of her for a second
Lonely Nice choice for a slower song, and they were great.
I AM THE BEST I'm sooooo glad they ended on this song! And I loved how they crowd did the same chant fans did during the song when it was performed on Korean music shows!
They did such a good job! Go 2NE1!!

Basically, it talks about the issues that previous Asian artists have had in breaking into the US market and how 2NE1 might have a better chance at it partly due to the accomplishments and influences of Nicki Minaj. In particular, it has to do with breaking stereotypes and redefining the roles of women of colour in the entertainment industry.
It's a great read and makes me very hopeful that 2NE1 will find success in the US even if I'm not so much of an active fan anymore.

Thanks, that was an interesting read!
