Since the very own beginning, it was her dream. Sweet Power scouted her as a "tarento" and focused her studies in acting and she used to practice street dance (I don't know for how long, though). Back in 2008, she "debuted" with Like This and then, because she wanted to take more lessons to be a better singer,
she delayed her real debut to 2009.
Moreover, both Sony and gr8! records praised her a lot back in 2009:

My thoughts exactly. Many may disagree but everytime I see Meisa's as a singer, I remember of Koda Kumi. Meisa is on the music scene for 3 years already and had one big hit (LOL!) and a "medium" (?) hit (Wired Life) while Koda took 5 years to be big, which some hits as well. Sales, those days, won't say a lot about the artist (alan, by an example, is an awesome songtress but her sales won't make justice to her talent and awesomeness), so let's see what her and her label will prepare to us. :3
