Even though they're similar situations, I'm not taking Meisa's announcement too well compared to Kumi's.
At least with Kumi, she had 10 years of music behind her before she started her family. 10 years is enough of a legacy if she ultimately decides to retire but it's also a very good reason to come back.
Meisa's only been releasing music regularly since 2009. That short amount of time coupled with the fact that she hasn't really flourished on the charts makes me think it'll be a lot easier for her to quit music because she'll be dealing with the demands of a new marriage and baby. In that situation, I think something would have to give, and since she's known mostly as an actress, I get the feeling that's what she'll focus on when she eventually comes back.
It's really sad, and I hope I'm wrong, but I already cancelled my preorder for "UNLOCKED".
