It seems from what I've read about it that singing these songs and broadcast the performances on TV is not a problem.
It becomes a problem when they want to release merchandise like a CD or a DVD with those performances in it.
For instance for JOLIN LOVE & LIVE, Warner had a really hard time getting the rights for Jolin's first ballad (Universal).
