Idk.
My feelings on the PV are still the same. Timmy looked horrible in it and really screwed over the whole effort of being androgynous. I think Timmy is too full of himself to be a superstar, enough that he thinks his retarded short-bus way of doing things is somehow "artistically" significant. I'm sorry if that's harsh or rude, but Ayumi has had better musicians, vocalists, dancers (people who actually could dance), and all of them really didn't try to outshine Ayu in her own music, PVs, or on stage.
As far as the song? I think it's a great addition to Ayumi's repertoire of music. However, I feel that, like Return Road, this is another great song that isn't given the priority it deserves. So, while I really did like the song, I don't feel like it made as big an impression as anything that appeared on singles because I generally feel that the songs worth highlighting most are the ones where there is a great effort to make the song stand out against other songs. BRILLANTE just didn't have enough standing out visually or release-wise to make it a super significant track for me.
To be honest, if I had to drum up a song of Ayumi's, I'd pick November before I'd think to say BRILLANTE, just because the majority of the songs on FIVE were so underwhelming.
I think you should do a thread on year-later thoughts on progress too. I know my opinion on that song has changed a lot since 2011.
