If she's trying to attract new fans, PQ wasn't the way to go.... you can't release an album like that unless it is what you really want to do (not because I think it's bad but it is a polarizing album).
Like I said in the cure thread, if ayu wants to attract new fans she would be doing better at it. She would have every resource available to her at the drop of a hat. Her sound would be more mainstream. Sure she may have tried some mainstream themes like with ANother song but in the end she still goes against the current trends with the majority of her new works.
Plus the lack of promotion for each release, the lack of lives, smaller number of magazine appearances etc, all lead me to believe she just doesn't care about that stuff as much anymore. She just cares about making music.
As for ASB, seems more AVEX's doing especially since it's almost an identical to Kumi's summer release. But it isn't that bad of a way to keep casual listeners interested. And it's fan-voted as well so I doubt any of the Japanese fans will complain.
