I think Ayu is able to be more conceptual by having this as a mini-album. It's a set theme.
It starts and ends with this release.
But a single tends to be continuation of things leading to a bigger release. The album tends to have the overall concept.
Perhaps she wanted this (and maybe more of the releases in this 5 month release?) to be independent from each other?
...or there's no reason other than to avoid making this a single.
Just my thoughts though, haha.
