but then wouldn't basically every artist release mini-albums instead of singles? also I think the public would tend to purchase a single over a mini-album, singles just have more commercial appeal.
back to profit and using FIVE as an example if they split the mini into two-three singles I'm pretty sure the combined profit from those singles would be more than one mini. avex is def just afraid of ayu losing her #1 single streak
