After reading the comments in this thread I can't help but think of a line from the movie Music and Lyrics. Paraphrased, the line was something like "The beat of a song is like when you see someone you find attractive from across the room, the initial attraction. But, the lyrics are getting to know the person, the emotional attraction."
I also think of my dislike of the song Eyes, Smoke, Magic. I think the lyrics are super interesting, but the song is so bad I just applaud Ayu's lyrical talent, but question her decision to approve the song and never ever listen to it
