She is both male and female now. I respect that she identifies as female and that she prefers that pronoun, but I see no reason for the truth to be offensive. The pronoun the person identifies with is, of course, preferable, but the other one remains correct. That said, the "he" in my first post was not done purposely, but simply because for years I have known of that person as "him", I would obviously use "she" if I personally knew her and/or was personally talking to her, simply because it is probably her wish.
In the end, today nobody can fully change their gender(it will hopefully become possible one day), they might identify with another one, but will remain at least biologically of their original gender with elements of the other gender(some purely visual, some functional). It's nothing disrespectful, rude or ignorant, - it's nothing to look down on either - it's simply truth. How that truth is treated - with acceptance or without - is the question, but ignoring it won't do anything.

But to get back on track:
I am hopeful that she will have a more fulfilled life after this. I really cannot say more since I only know her from being Ayumi's former dancer.

But I think it is important to set sex apart from gender. Today you can fully change your gender, not your sex. That has nothing to do with ignoring the truth. It's just that in this world most people wouldn't accept the change of one's sex and by calling Hide now she instead of he one can show acceptance.
