In many languages, there are gender neutral pronouns. In Chinese if we're referring to someone, we say "ta" which could mean he, she or it.
I think a country in Europe recently (within the last 5 years) decided to add a gender neutral pronoun to their language. English could also add one if they felt like it (come on Oxford Dictionary).
Homophobic isn't the right word to use though. That word describes people more. Where is Cory when you need her?
