I don't think so either. Ayu announced to her fans when they got married, but that was all, as far as I know. If it was a scam then she wouldn't have kept it so private. And plus, it would only be logical for her to do that if it aided her career somehow, but she actually sacrificed a lot of her career(very few releases, Japanese fans displeased, not many public appearances etc) to be with him. Someone wouldn't do that unless they were committed to that person, but that's my opinion on it.
I never got the whole disapproval of Mannie, as far as I was concerned, it was none of my private business, and I have no right to judge who she dates or falls in love with. If Mannie made her happy, even though it was short, and it didn't work because they chose to live in different countries, (even though she was planning to move to LA with him before the earthquake) then, honestly, I couldn't have cared less. XD I was just glad that she had someone. But that's my two cents.
I'm very happy to know she has someone, and in a serious relationship. She's known Maro since he became her dancer in 2007, so they know each other well. I wish them the best of luck and hopefully a good life together! I really do.
I don't think Ayu deserves to be alone anymore.
