Like many J-Rockers, Ayu could probably hold a small concert and have a fairly decent turnout. If Ayu actually tried release stuff here it would totally flop. Unless she was willing to be the next Asian fad song singer that everyone laughs at and then forgets in a few weeks.

Not to mention, the West is all about the beat. Ayu is all touching lyrics.

@emi: My mom has very little interest in J-Pop and loves Kumi's voice. Of course that's just one opinion. I do think that Kuu or Namie have the best chances in the Western market. Maybe Miliyah.
