I always think of the Love songs trilogy as if there are two couples: The thief couple, shown on Virgin Road, and the normal one who lives in NY. Virgin Road just shows the beginning of the thief couple and nothing more. The NY couple lived happily but that Mannie cheated on that ayu and when she discovered it, she got so upset and mad that she killed him, and that's why she's so depressive and full of guilty, the weight of it smashes her and is almost driving her crazy, like in those scenes in which she think she's being followed in Last angel. That's actually nobody, but the phantom of her own guilty. When she decided to move on from that dramatic and terrific love, the thief couple was in NY and they were scaping from that bank, and she got in the middle of the thing, got shot and died. Once dead, she could finally meet again with Mannie, free of her sins.

But this is not the right thread, aaaaaand I expect this trilogy to be as confusing as this one.
