Do we know that? I find it rather questionable. Sure, Ayumi has higher overall sales, but she also has an incredibly extensive videography and discography and most of her releases contain at least one very pricey aspect - some of which are most certainly not profitable (take the Days/GREEN single for example, they most certainly made a minus on it considering the GREEN video alone was reported to have cost 1.8 million dollars, yet "only" 190k copies at around 12-24 dollar each were sold, barely bringing those 1.8 million back in - and that's not yet considering the other PV with it's various sets and extras, the production of the music itself, the promotion of the single, the physical production of the single, the cut music stores take, logistics...)
On the other hand, most of Namie's releases appear to be very cost effective, at least since 2008 or so.
