I like to see it as alan being happier -- she's closer to friends and family (who are really important to her). She gets to work in her native language (which puts her back into another comfort zone). She might have taken a step out of the Japanese music industry and sort of gone from one complication to another (her career in China has been really weird so far [just ask pommy about her label XD]), but ultimately if it's something that will make alan happy, then I'm happy
