15th anniversary was all about celebrating the past, hence the nostalgic type-album with very familiar Ayu sounds. I think I would have enjoyed it more if she hadn't done the same thing a few years back with the Love songs era.
Now that this is over and done with, her next release should go back to pushing the envelope a bit more. This is where Ayu shines. It's not necessaily going to translate to sales, but its when she's pushing the envelope that she makes her best music as of late.
And with these dismal sales, nobody's going to be pressuring her to create familiar nostalgic-type songs that the Japanese should love. It clearly didn't work in this instance if that was Avex's goals.
