In my and a few other's opinions, all 3 were just for the publicity and any real relationship is just like Ayumi said, private is private and kept separate from business.
Anything seen by the public is just what Avex and Ayumi mutually agree to have seen for her image. Or in some cases just what Avex wants, since she's stated there have been times she's pressured to do things that make her uncomfortable. But it's up to everyone's own interpretation as to what is truth and what is just more of the image.
