Arashi holds a special live in affected areas! Also experience harvesting and firefighting training!
Quote:
The five members of Arashi held a mini live in the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake back in May, specifically in Ofunato City in Iwate Prefecture. This would be the first time all 5 members visit Iwate Prefecture since the earthquake, and the complete footage will be introduced during the 12-hours special program "THE MUSIC DAY Ongaku no Chikara" (NTV/10:30AM) on July 6th.
Before their performance, all five of them walked through the affected areas to experience their current situation, in addition to make contact with some of the victims. Sakurai Sho (31), Ohno Satoshi (32) and Aiba Masaki (30) visited Minato Village at night. During the story of this disaster, most families at the time engaged in harvesting/fishing tangle in order to contribute to the reconstruction, all 3 members shed sweat while actually fishing it. On the other hand Matsumoto Jun (29) and Ninomiya Kazunari (30) covered the local fire brigade which has been training locals as firefighters in the riverside of the city. The 2 member also engaged in this activity while sporting the fire brigade's uniform.
hno shared his impressions after interacting with the victims, "The road of recovery continues, we felt part of this big force but after experiencing fishing tangle together our thoughts are now stronger than before". Ninomiya who interacted with them while training as a firefighter talked about the lesson learned, "The human connection or rather, feeling this strong sense of responsibility towards the younger generations".
During the live, in addition to the 550 fans of three prefectures affected, they also invited the firefighters and the families who trained them in fishing tangle. Since the venue was too narrow, they could easily reach the hands of the audience while performing their latest song, "Endless Game" and "Happiness" among other hit songs. Aiba excitedly commented, "Really really close! I felt a little embarrassed at some parts, but I think we all became one". Matsumoto talked about the future, "I'm really glad we all had the opportunity to come and meet you directly and even make you feel a little happier. We would like to continue delivering energy to Japan in the future".
