I'm 1000% done with trying to understand japanese public.
And I think this shoot is truly stylish, you don't have to wear fancy clothes to be iconic, Ayu best know image, at the time of her peak, had her wearing a pair of jeans and a simple shirt. She has a beautiful, cute, slender body, that she's showing with decency; very gorgeous bracelets and rings; a cleaned-up and honest face; artless and shortish hair. And, for god's sake, she's 34, not 50. I thought japanese people wanted her to be the "approachable girl next door" again, or something. Whatever.
