Just got back from the 30/12 show. It was great. Her voice wasn't great - about as bad and in some parts slightly worse than A Best live (maybe she was sick? she was singing flat 50% of the time), but what the heck, her concerts have rarely been about her singing. Am actually LESS inclined to think that she's been lip-syncing here like she used to in the past couple of CDLs because of how consistently bad her voice was. Oh well!
- Best part of show? Sea of pink lights every time the lights went down.
- She did a funny new ad-lib bit at the end of Love song (not crazy about it).
- Loved You & Me; best song of the set for me and I think she was also obviously most into that song.
- I generally think SURREAL-evo is done to death, but hearing it live was an epic experience.
- Timmy sang a couple of lines of Gaga's Applause during his part of the band member introduction
- BOLD AND DELICIOUS CLOSED THE SHOW I CAN DIE HAPPY NOW!
The use of set was Excellent. I can't believe those dancers were rolling around WHILE the slopes were literally in motion going up and down. It was in comparison a sparsely embellished set compared to HLS and ABL, but the mechanics of it were great. When Ayu came out in the opening, the slopes opened and made it look like she was emerging from a space ship or something.
Had a very good time. Scored a t-shirt. Next goal - catch her in a full length concert tour cos 16 songs JUST DOESN'T CUT IT~
