Just to clear this up. I know you guys aren't that familiar with m-flo, but stop referring to m-flo as a rapper, lol... The rapper is VERBAL. The producer/trackmaker is Taku Takahashi. The DUO is m-flo. m-flo doesn't rap. VERBAL does.
Okay, now that that's out of the way! XD
On the official m-flo website there are self liner notes from Taku Takahashi about the making of each track, so I translated what he said about "My way."

We got the idea "Wouldn't it be cool to have ayu rap on top of a trap beat?" so we figured we'd go to her with the offer, since we had nothing to lose by doing so, and she happily accepted. Maybe it's because it was her first time rapping, but she kept asking "Is this okay?" so I was concerned, but her intonation & attitude when delivering the lyrics was magnificent.

When she lowered the pitch of her voice for the chopped & screwed part, even then her voice was so cool. So I'd personally like to hear her rap more from now on, I think. On the track, I felt like something was missing in the first version, so I swapped the kick & snare with sounds I'd put into an E4 sampler. What I'd done was sample these crunchy "bachi--!" and "bari--!" sounds from records. Lately I've felt through every part of me that maybe it's still incomplete. But even now, I just surrender to the sound when using samples, just as I did before. I always feel like correcting things when I'm mixing it all together. Besides, I think stuff like the piano samples are really effective, aren't they?
