Teenage Dream succeeded at doing something that's very hard to achieve; it sounded like a cohesive album with a clear theme, while keeping each and every song on the album universally distinct from one another. All songs were unique in their own respect. Every single song kills everything off Prism, and if that's being forward, then I can call out E.T., Hummingbird Heartbeat, and Circle the Drain as definites. Those three tracks alone make Teenage Dream the better album.
Prism doesn't have such clear distinctions, minus the choices for singles so far which I have HATED. Roar is deplorable and don't get me started on Dark Hoarse. Birthday is ok and How We Do got less embarrassing as the song played, but overall the album is just a sad, sad attempt. She over killed it with the "light through the darkness" theme. The songs are too "anthem" ish.
Teenage Dream will stand the test of time, this album didn't even stand the test of first play through.
