I have a feeling they - and HKT48 - could end up in the next year's Kouhaku (66th)! Cannot guarantee though, but Nogizaka46 is becoming pretty much dangerous as a potential "true" AKB48 competitor. But in terms of Kouhaku, same team as AKB48!

Agreed. Today's current generation isn't in the mood for Morning Musume, now that AKB48 (and its related groups) has been pretty much the norm for today...
