B'z break records and top Oricon chart with their 1st single in 2 years and 9 months

Popular rock unit B'z released their come back single titled "Uchouten" on January 14 which was their first single in 2 years and 9 months.

After selling 134,000 copies in the first week, the single topped Oricon's weekly single ranking and it has become their 47th consecutive chart-topping single.

The total number of weeks their singles have charted has reached 64 weeks, and it broke the record of "number of weeks an artist's singles have charted" which was previously held by Pink Lady (63 weeks) since 1979 when "Chameleon Army" was on the chart for 63 weeks.

"Uchouten" also allowed B'z to update their own records of "number of consecutive chart-topping singles" (47 consecutive No.1 singes), "sum of the chart-topping single" (47 singles), and "total sales figure" (35,577,000 copies).
