I rented the more expensive one because they were out of the cheaper ones, but with that I could browse youtube, upload to facebook and instagram without any issues and do basically everything I needed to and more. And trust me, having google maps when you're lost and trying to find somewhere that doesn't have signs (we couldn't find Gotokuji temple so I had to use google maps and it was a LIFESAVER) makes life soooo much easier.
My dad rented a Japanese simcard but couldn't get it to work in his SG4 so I personally would recommend getting a travelsim.

OMG, how did I not know about this?! When I was in Japan I had to go without Wi-Fi most of the time, this would have been AMAZING to have! I'll definitely use it when I go back! Thanks!!
