Well I would say the Scorpions are the biggest music act we have abroad.^^ But Rammstein come after the Scorpions.

But regarding Schlager. No. It's not relevant at all. Schlager has its fans and sometimes when people are really drunk even younger peope listen to it. But it's not relevant or popular. Helene Fischer had one big hit with "Atemlos", but one hit song does not make someone relevant in general. No one will ever listen to Helene Fischer or Andrea Berg and say they had any influence to the music scene in Germany. They simply never had and never will. Just because it has high sales doesn't mean a lot of people listen to it. I mean, who listens to Schlager/Volksmusik? People over 50+. And that's exactly why its sales are high in comparison. Younger people just download music or listen to it via youtube. But no one gives a shit about Schlager besides people over 50+.

Edit: I wouldn't say the Scorpions are really relevant today in Germany. But everyone knows them and from a historical point of view they are pretty interesting.
