^ A bit of nostalgia and past overestimation are my guesses
It's curious how people (in general here, sometimes I get myself doing so also) tend to wish for something like something did back in the past, and when they get it, it's like "why did they destroy it? this idea was so good back then but now urgh". I guess this happens cause, well, new stuff doesnt have any memories or feelings well attached to it (yet) so it doesnt have that much of a meaning as old stuff usually do.
