So very very this... Zedd is a great illustration of how the market doesn't want interesting or complex music anymore. Back in the day rock & roll was big and complicated and interesting because people wanted more bang for their buck... now they want inoffensive background sound for the most part. Music these days isn't about its feature set anymore, lol. So Zedd does what he does in order to actually make a living. It's disappointing to see.
BT's current sound is kinda reflective of the times too, sadly. He was at his best doing big beat & complex breaks, but it went out of style pretty swiftly - his stuff since the mid-2000s is more run of the mill, more musically simple. Very very nice, and most of the time it's still emotionally effective, but it's no longer groundbreaking.
