Is it only me or the hype for this album is practicaly dead? Or maybe because the album isn.t officially released and people are waiting for hd rips. I remember when FEEL was released everybody went crazy bout it.
Agree with the fact that most song are really americanised but this was always the case with Namie in a form or another. When rnb was huge in the US she did genius 2000 and break the rules (influences from jlo, destiny's child, britney spears etc.) Then hip hop came strong (nelly, p diddy, usher etc.) and she did Style and the hip hop project Suite Chic. When rnb and hip hop started to lose their power into the favour of a more poppish sound, she also adopted a more easy going rnb/pop seen into albums such as Queen of Hip Pop and PLAY. In 2008, the electronic dance pop music started taking over the world and since then Namie went on the same route, with her most generic effort to date Uncontrolled. The only exception is the amazing Past Future which gave us the chance to see Namie experimenting and succeding. Feel and genic are even more westernised than Uncontrolled, also following the trends of the time. Genic has influences from current djs, ariana grande (the throwback sound) etc.
Still, Namie is Namie. And even if people are sayin that she has no attitude, I personally 'feel' her soul into many of her songs. It took me almost one year to get into her music but it was worth it.
