I guess it could mean both. But at least in certain cases I wouldn't be surprised if it takes quite a bit of time for a composition to be released as a full song since they're as far as I know often a part of a catalogue presented to the singer by the company or something of the sort, even if there are exceptions. In ayu's case she needs to make lyrics for the composition after hearing it or at least adapt already existing lyrics which should take some time at least... A two year delay for a song to be released isn't such a long time then really and pruduction takes some time as well. Some songs sound completely different from CM versions (STEP you and moments are great examples, even the vocals sound completely different from the released versions of the song.)

I also remember there were "raw versions" of the tetsuya komuro songs floating around the avex opening side as a synth medley, at at least half of the songs on love songs were a partof that medley and it shows that at leasat for those songs, ayu's lyrics fit the original compositions syllable by syllable... So in any event I presume they were mostly fresh compositions. Allthough you never know how long they've been on Tks computer. =P
I wanna hear those!

I always wonder what kind of masterpieces Ayu has lying around that she either scrapped, forgot about, or whatever.
