Anime News Network - Cardfight Vanguard G Starts 'Gears Crisis-hen' Anime Series In October with BREAKERZ Theme
Bushiroad announced in July that a new Cardfight!! Vanguard G TV anime titled Cardfight!! Vanguard G: Gears Crisis-hen will begin airing in Japan on October 11. In addition, the staff of the anime revealed on Monday that the band BREAKERZ will perform the new anime's opening theme song.
Musician DAIGO, who formed BREAKERZ, starred in a live-action television adaptation of the Cardfight!! Vanguard card game earlier in May. DAIGO also plays as a character named after himself in the anime franchise.
The new Cardfight!! Vanguard G: Gears Crisis-hen TV anime will also feature two new characters named Luna Yumizuki and Amu Chōno, designed by franchise creator Akira Ito.
Based on Bushiroad's card game franchise, the Cardfight!! Vanguard G anime premiered last October. The story begins at Card Capital Shop No. 2, three years after the story in the earlier Cardfight!! Vanguard: Legion Mate-Hen anime.
The main characters are Chrono Shindō (pictured below center, voiced by Mark Ishii), Shion Kiba (pictured left, Junya Enoki), and Tokoha Anjō (pictured right, Emi Nitta). Crunchyroll is streaming it with English subtitles, and YouTube is streaming it with an English dub.
