Well, for Kumi's career its a common sense that her label wanted her to be more sexy and stuff, but she said a couple of times that it was her idea doing something sexy and cute / cool at the same time, so I feel that at the end of the day everything worked out well for her.
I never felt that she was hyper sexualized or anything by RZ, and I can really see a conection with Kuu and Honey (the Cutie Honey protagonist): a girl with a bubbly personality who's sexual appeal comes natural with a more empowering tone, than just playing the bombshell kind of girl.
And btw, I miss her cute songs

I'm dying for a new Lick me or whatever, just give me another Wonderland and I'll be happy. Gimme U is almost there, but not enough. haha
