Hmmm it's hard to find huge pop stars here in Spain, as it's already pointed out. Dunno why really, I guess our industry is a joke compared to other countries. That being said, we do have some artists out there. I'd like to contribute with a few of them, even if they can't really be labeled as "pop stars" per se.

Vega

She became famous after taking part in a tv show in the vein of x factor, around 10 years ago. She's a songwriter and composer, and I admire her because she's been always true to herself; her music isn't probably commercial enough to be a hit, but she never cared about that. She loves writing, her lyrics are definitely her strongest point, and that's why her fans connect so well with her. She's sooo down to earth, with a very strong personality, and maybe that's why she always felt free to change and evolve in the way she wanted. She's releasing music under her own label, and have composed music for other artists as well. And she just had a baby!

Najwa Nimri

She's an actress and also a songwriter. Her music isn't pop, actually, and I find it hard to choose a tag for it. She's very unique, and very loved and idealized by her public. She's so hypnotic and raw, I think that's the word. Really honest in interviews (which are always so fun to watch), she doesn't give a shit about how everyone sees her. She's been around for sooo many years, around 20, releasing music and acting, but she wasn't really famous. She recently gained more fame due to a tv series (the spanish version of oitnb, kinda), she played the evil character and nailed it. Most of her music is in english, except for 2 spanish albums. She's a solo artist, but she also collaborates with other musicians and producers, and even has a band with one of them (called Najwajean). Every album is different, and you can see so many sides from her.
