I think fans get upset over the cosmetic surgery speculations because many people try to use these rumors as an insult to Ayu because they don't like her and need any reason to bash her. So proving the rumors false is to fight back against the haters. Not so much against the idea of having cosmetic surgery.
Even if Ayu did get things done, it's very subtle anyway. Especially with these two photos.
